Union Grove High School Agricultural Literacy Program Visits UGES

Over the past few weeks, Reese D. and Shannon R. from Union Grove High School have been visiting classrooms to share information about how important agriculture is to our everyday lives.  As part of their independent study program, each classroom visit included an educational lesson about agriculture as well as a fun hands-on activity. With the middle school students, they also shared what agricultural science and natural resource courses are available at UGHS and answered questions about what high school is like compared to middle school.  They spoke about how to get involved with FFA (Future Farmers of America) which can prepare students for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology fields that are related to agriculture.  Reese and Shannon will be continuing to visit UGES throughout the remainder of the school year. UGES “thanks” both Reese and Shannon for their efforts!
