
Congratulations to both the boys' and girl's A-teams for winning their divisional playoff games last night. As a result, both teams have advanced to the conference championship tournament which will take place tomorrow, Thursday, March 21. The boys will play the Wheatland Warhawks at 4:00 p.m. at Trevor-Wilmot Grade School and the girls will take on the Mustangs from Brookwood at 4:00 p.m. at Raymond Elementary School. A special congratulations to the boys' A-team on being the #1 seed and for winning all of their matches last night! Good Luck Ponies!

Good luck to the boys and girls volleyball teams tonight in the divisional playoffs. The boys play at Yorkville at 4:00 p.m. and the girls play at Raymond at 4:00 p.m. Important information from host school (Raymond) for the Girls East Divisional Volleyball Tournament: There are extra parking lots on the north end of the gym and the staff lot in the southwest corner of the school. All spectators and players can enter through the atrium door in the front of the school that leads directly into the gym. The east volleyball court is by the large flag on the wall, and the west volleyball court is by the locker rooms. GO PONIES!

It's “Aladdin Jr. T-Shirt Day” tomorrow! Students and staff are encouraged to wear their Aladdin Jr. t-shirt or PURPLE to show support for the cast and crew. Activity night permission slips for grades 5-8 are due tomorrow (Tuesday, March 19) by 3:00 p.m. to the main office. Extra activity night permission slips are available in the office for the third and final activity night of the year which will take place this Friday, March 22 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

The Choral Festival for the 7th/8th grade elective choir is this Wednesday, March 20. They would like to invite everyone to come watch their concert at 7:00 p.m. at Union Grove High School. All family and friends are welcome!

UGES Read-a-thon Update...It's not too late to sign your student up. The Read-a-thon starts today and will continue through Thursday, March 28. Students can still receive their bookmark if they are registered by this Friday, March 22. Here is the sign-up link: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/ugespto
Once a student is registered, parents will receive a link for their student to begin tracking their "minutes read" and a link to start collecting donations. As of today, UGES students have raised $3, 268. What a great start! Great job everyone!

Paxton from Ms. Fisel's 3rd grade class was showing off his drawing skills. He must have run out of paper. No worries. It's dry erase marker (it wipes clean). Great job Paxton! You are an amazing artist!


March Pony Pride Ticket Challenge Update - Congratulations to 3rd and 5th grades! Currently they are in the lead for a chance to play in the student vs. staff dodgeball game on March 28. Not far behind in the standings are kindergarten, 2nd grade, 6th grade and 8th grade. Students will have a chance to continue to earn Pony Pride Tickets! Check back next Thursday to see who is in the lead!

Ms. Knab’s 1st grade class does rainbow math and a color changing cabbage water experiment to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

Ms. Klenke's class was so excited and thankful to have Mrs. Zabler visit their classroom with chicks and ducklings! This was a fantastic cumulative activity to end their farm unit.

"UGES Family Movie Night" is Tonight! Please enter through the main entrance of the school by the office. Gym doors open at 5:30 p.m. Movie starts at 6:00 p.m. This event is open to all UGES students and their families. All students must be accompanied by an adult. Soda, popcorn, candy and pizza will be available for purchase. Don't forget your chairs and blankets. It's going to be a great night for a movie and snacks!

Ms. Passe's 1st grade class participated in a STEM activity in which they had to build a rainbow. Looks like a fun project!
